Educational only — not medical advice

Last updated: May 2026

SureShotFatLoss is an educational platform, not a clinical service. We publish editorial content, research summaries, and protocol frameworks based on peer-reviewed literature. We do not provide medical care, diagnosis, or prescription.

What this means in practice

  • We don't diagnose disease. The Metabolic Damage Assessment is a screening and educational tool. It does not diagnose any condition. The Insulin Resistance Calculator is similarly a screening estimate, not a diagnostic test.
  • We don't treat disease. The protocols, articles, and recommendations on this site are general education. They are not personalized treatment plans for your specific medical situation.
  • We don't replace your physician. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making major dietary changes, starting or stopping medications, or implementing any protocol — especially if you have an existing medical condition, take prescription medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are under the age of 18.
  • FDA disclaimer. Statements on this site have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Our products and protocols are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Specific contexts requiring physician oversight

These categories of users should engage a qualified physician before applying any guidance on this site:

  • Adults on GLP-1 drugs (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound) — dose changes must be coordinated with your prescribing physician. Our GLP-1 vertical is educational scaffolding, not prescription guidance.
  • Adults with type-1 or type-2 diabetes — the Newcastle/DiRECT framework applied without physician oversight risks hypoglycemia, especially on insulin or sulfonylureas.
  • Adults with cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, liver disease, or eating disorders — many of our protocols (deficit, fasting, low-carb) are inappropriate without medical supervision in these conditions.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women — dietary recommendations on this site are not designed for pregnancy or lactation.
  • Children and adolescents — the Service is not designed for users under 18.

Limitations of self-assessment

Our calculators provide estimates based on population averages and validated formulas. They are not as accurate as direct clinical measurement. The TDEE Calculator is a starting estimate; actual energy expenditure varies. The Insulin Resistance Calculator is a screening proxy; HOMA-IR from real bloodwork is more accurate, and an oral glucose tolerance test is the clinical reference. The Visceral Fat Estimator approximates from waist-to-height ratio; DEXA or MRI imaging is the actual measurement.

Use our calculators as orientation, not as substitutes for clinical testing.

Contested topics

Several topics on this site (seed oils, saturated fat, carbohydrate restriction) are areas where the scientific literature is genuinely contested. We aim to present both sides honestly. Our editorial position on contested topics is explicit; we don't claim certainty where the evidence doesn't support it. Readers should weigh our conclusions against their own physician's guidance.

Affiliate relationships

Some content on this site contains affiliate links. We disclose this prominently in any article containing them. Affiliate revenue does not influence our editorial positions. See our full affiliate disclosure and editorial policy.

Questions

If you have questions about how to apply our content responsibly to your specific situation, the right answer is to ask your physician — not to email us. We can clarify what we've written; we cannot give you medical advice.
